winter
We were giving a mini canvus and told to pick a season, I chose winter, and then told to paint a representation of that season. At first I was going to paint a faint sunset that you couldn't really see because it was snowing and then a bunch of evergreen trees. I found it very hard to paint evergreen trees and didn't like it so I painted over it in white and tried to paint a blue snow flake. The snow flake did not look good so I painted over it and blended it in with the white which made these blue streaks in with the white background which was an accident but I liked it in the end.
Weaving
For this project I did weaving. I choose to use purple and white yarn. I like this yarn cause it was soft. I found this project difficult. I messed up a lot with the twill that I was doing. But in the end I liked the pattern I did. I found the project time consuming and hard
Think Outside the Box
|
For this project we were giving a square and had to make a picture out of that square. My square was originally an apple getting shot. I chose to repeat the colors used in my square, but just have different shapes inside the squares. I over lapped the squares and outlined them in black. After that drew either a circle, triangle, or a square inside the square. I used many different colors of oranges, yellows, blues, and purple. I used purple for the background because it is opposite on the color wheel to orange. In this project I tried focus on working on my shading and creating a gradation of colors.

Alebriges
|
My animal is a octopus and a cat. It has a octopus tentacles, cat ears, a cat tail painted on the back, a cat face, and a cat stomach. I choose a polka dot pattern. We learned about Mexican folk art and how they used bright colors and patterns in their art. We also learned that an Alebrige is a a structure made out of many different animal parts and features.

Self-Portrait
I drew a self-portrait. It was a difficult experience trying to figure out where to place things and how to proportion things. I used a pencil. My favorite thing about my portrait is my lips and eyes. I found it difficult to find symbols and difficult to draw the face shape. If I were to do this project over again I would have spent more time on my symbols and maybe redraw my shoulders, I think they look weird.
We learn about Frida Kahlo and how she made self portraits and used symbols in her drawings and paintings to show how she was feeling and to show things that you couldn't see on the outside physically but what she was feeling inside and mentally. |

Op Art Pattern
I used a black and white checker pattern for my Op Art Pattern Project. I choose to use patterns for my Op Art project ,because it seemed to be the easiest one.
Alebriges
We used clay to make animals with different features from different features. I choose to have octopus testicles and cat ears. I learned that the clay we used is difficult to work with but can turn out really cool in the end. I learned the pinch pot technique and how to slip and score. I learned how to form clay and to make sure the things you put on it are thicker cause they can fall off and break in the kiln.
Abstract Project #2
I created an independent abstract oil pastel projects. I used squares and used cool colors and blended them. I outlined the squares with black to make the squares pop. We worked with oil pastels and we trying to blend the colors. We learned about using shapes and colors to make abstract art.
Abstract Project #1
We were provided a list of random steps to draw things with oil pastels. Used many different colors and random shapes and tried to blend them. We used random steps because sometimes it is hard to come up with ideas on what to draw, so the steps are kind of like an ice breaker.
1 Point perspective value project
Collagraph Print
I used lace, paper flowers, beads, different styles of ribbon, and a key to create my print. I used a teal color paint because I like that color. It is a relief print. I used a black matting on the outside. For this project we learned how to make collagraph prints which is where you take found objects and glue them to a plate and use paint to make like a stamp effect. We made multiple prints ,both intaglio and relief print. We picked which one we liked the best and choose this one, because I like how this one showed up on the paper.
